The Public Sector Pensions Act 2013 introduced a requirement for all Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Administering Authorities to establish a Pension Board.
The Board’s role is to assist the Administering Authority (North Yorkshire Council) in ensuring that the North Yorkshire Pension Fund is managed and administered effectively and efficiently and complies with pensions’ legislation and requirements imposed by the Pensions Regulator.

If you are interested in this role you:-
- should have relevant experience and knowledge of pension funds or have experience in dealing with governance issues.
- must be able to demonstrate you have the capacity to represent the interests of Scheme employers and communicate relevant information with them effectively.
- will be required to undertake suitable training relevant to your responsibilities.
The role is unpaid, but the appointee will be able to claim reasonable expenses in connection with fulfilling Pension Board responsibilities.
