Welcome to the North Yorkshire Pension Fund. Your employer will automatically deduct pension contributions from your pay (unless you are a casual employee). The NYPF will send you a starter pack when your employer tells us that you have joined the LGPS. The pack will tell you how to access your pension record online via My Pension Online and how to transfer any other pension benefits you may have.
Automatic enrolment
Under the LGPS regulations most new employees are contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme. Automatic enrolment sits alongside contractual enrolment and requires that employers continually monitor their workforce and take certain actions in respect of their employees who are not contributing to their workplace pension scheme at specified times.
It is the responsibility of each employer to ensure that they meet the automatic enrolment requirements, North Yorkshire Pension Fund is not involved in this process. More information about automatic enrolment can be found on the LGPS Members website.
