If you’re thinking about retirement at any age between 55 and 75 (the earliest and latest ages that you can take your pension benefits), the easiest way to view the benefits you might receive from the North Yorkshire Pension Fund (NYPF) is via your online pension record, My Pension Online. If you are not already registered for online access, why not visit My Pension Online for details of how to create an account.
Once you are registered, you can use My Pension Online at any time and as often as you like, to get an estimate of what your pension benefits might be between age 55 and your State Pension age. If you have an Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) contract with Prudential, these are not included in the estimates provided on My Pension Online.
If you are:-
- age 60 or over and intend to retire within the next 12 months;
- under age 60 with an AVC, or;
- between 55 and 60 and intend to resign from your current job in the next three months,
you can also ask us to work out your estimate. If you have already resigned, are considering applying for flexible retirement or if your post is being made redundant, your employer will arrange an estimate on your behalf. In these circumstances, we cannot provide an estimate without your employer’s permission.
If you would like us to provide an estimate of your pension benefits (and you meet the criteria above), please contact us. Please note that you can only request one estimate each year. We’ll send your estimated figures as soon as possible, but during busy periods your request may take several weeks.
The Government has announced the earliest age that you can take your pension will increase from age 55 to 57 from 6 April 2028.
