You should tell the NYPF as soon as possible if one of your employees dies. Please share details of the next of kin if you have these. The NYPF will contact the next of kin regarding any benefits that may be due.
i-Connect user
- Enter the employee as a leaver on your monthly i-Connect return. You must submit leaver information on the next available return
- The NYPF will request Assumed Pensionable Pay separately (needed to calculate career average (CARE) benefits).
Not an i-Connect user
- Submit a leaver form. You must do this as soon as the possible after the date of death.
- Remember to complete the Assumed Pensionable Pay section on the leaver form (needed to calculate career average (CARE) benefits).
